Mona- I like acrylic and mixable oil. My wife does not like the regular oil because she does not like the cleaners. You can clean your brushes with water in the mixable oil. That was the big deal with the mixable oil. I had not been painting with regular oil for many years. I think I do lot the mixable oil more than the acrylic. It does not dry out like the acrylic paint. Thanks for the posts!! Will have to put in a few more pics of my older paintings. I have not been painting for some time. I need to get my act together!!
Thanks Carol. It was a challenge with that piece to put the lines in there!! I waited for the paint to dry. Then I put a thin layer of clear media on the surface. Then my small brush with some paint on it let it slide over the area leaving a thin line. It WORKED!! Always a way!! Thanks again Carol!!
I just realised I have missed a few of your paintings. I have been away visiting my daughter so I need to catch up. LOL. Great work ...love the boats and the little girl Tortoise. and "Hope" is a wow. Love it.
Dors- Thanks for checking out the miniatures!! Going to work on another piece. Know big deal on this one. Just working with ideas. Quite busy with garden stuff so will just go with the flow!! Thanks. Jim

Jim, this is beautifully done, and I like the frame you chose for it too.
How do you like mixable oils compared to acrylic or regular oil?

Wow Jim!! This is stunning. The colors are gorgeous. And the details of the boats and the reflections in the water is amazing.

Your work is beautiful. I love miniature work, I would love to see it in person. Photos usually never do them justice! I will check back often.
This is a lovely, serene painting Jim.
